Alaskan Harvest Seafood has been in business 27 years now. Alaskan Harvest Seafood was established in Sitka, Alaska in 1990. The company was owned by North Pacific Seafood Processors. That company was a subsidiary of the worlds largest trading company, Maribeni of Tokyo. After about ten years operating is Sitka, the company moved to Seattle, Washington. From there a few years later moved again to Memphis, next to FedEx. That was due to seeking lower cost shipping from Alaskan Harvest customers. After a couple of years operating from Memphis, there was a change of ownership and the operation was moved again to Oregon. Oregon is a non-sales tax State so customers get a little lower cost transactions. Subsidized shipping costs: Alaskan Harvest pays 50% of shipping on orders of $120 or more, reducing cost for our customers. One thing we have learned through that time is that a company doesn't exist without it's customers.
